Loading Bulk Materials
Gardenwerks is happy to load our bulk material into an open bed truck or trailer.
For your safety and ours, please remain in your vehicle while we’re loading.
You’re welcome to bring buckets or trash bins to fill, or shovel our bulk material into the back of a car or a truck with a topper.
We are unable to load during extremely wet weather, but otherwise come by anytime during business hours for our bulk materials.

Soils and Compost

This rich soil is from Montana and ready for your new lawn, flower beds, or as a base for your vegetable garden.
Screened Topsoil

Harvested from a local source and screened to a fine particulate; perfect for a new lawn or as a base for a flower planting bed.
Resoil/Fill

Screened soil, use for fill or for establishing a lawn.
Garden Select with Compost

A mix of topsoil, sand, soil builder and OMRI certified organic compost. Great base for a vegetable or ornamental garden.
Organic Compost

OMRI Listed. Mixture of aged, screened bark, peat moss and composted straw and manure. Use to amend planting beds, vegetable gardens, potting soil or topdress your lawn.
Soil Builder $55
Composted wood products used as an amendment to improve the texture of the soil. Oftentimes used in conjunction with compost or manure.

Large Shredded Bark

Benefits of Mulching
Mulching provides many benefits to a garden, both functional and aesthetic. Proper use of mulch can help to conserve water by reducing soil temperature and limiting wind exposure. Others include: weed suppression, preventing soil compaction and improving the health of the soil.

3/4” Crushed Rock

Sand

Used on top of crushed rock to set block pavers or flagstones on (1” depth).
Decomposed Granite (Boulder)

Truck Capacities
Weight is often the limiting factor when transporting bulk materials, not volume. The following is typical, but we recommend checking your vehicle/trailer for weight specifications.
Small (Tacoma, etc.) .25 CY gravel, .5 CY soil, 1 CY mulch
Mid (F150, etc.) .5 cy gravel, 1 cy soil, 1.5 mulch
Large (F250, etc.) 1+ cy gravel, 2+ cy soil, 2.5 mulch

Not sure how much material to get to fill a raised bed or topdress your mulch? Click the “Cubic Yards Calculator” link below to find out. Don’t forget your depth is in INCHES! If you need bulk material for multiple areas such as raised beds that are the same size put the number of beds under quantity, otherwise just enter a quantity of 1.
